Remote control for car radios or other
audio equipmentMost of the touring motorbikes today have a car radio already
installed. Advantageously with remote control to have the the "good piece"
installed protected from thiefery and splash water. Special motorbike radios
do have disadvantages, for one they are very expensive (regarding purchase price
and also regarding maintenance and repair) but you do not really have a choice
- one radio and that's it. Therefore, a lot of motorbikers like to use simple
car radios or MP3-players, like iPod, etc. A protected installation is then only
possible with a remote control.

Two worlds getting connected

With the AKE connection-interface most standard car radios from Blaupunkt and
Sony and also an Apple iPod can easily be connected to the handlebar remote control
from BMW. Therefore, the owner of a BMW touring machine is now flexible when it
comes to choosing a radio and this without having to forgo the advantages of a
handlebar remote control.
With this connection-interface it is now possible
to use everything that today's technology is offering, starting with inexpensive
starter kits over various radio/CD/MP3 combinations up to high value digital or
navigation radios. Right now there are approx. 40 different types of radios that
can be connected.

For all motorbikes where the handlebar remote control can not be used or for
additional operating functions it is recommended to use the AKE radio/CD/MP3 remote
control.
With the remote control from AKE all car radios with remote
control from Blaupunkt and Sony as well as iPods from Apple can easily be used
on a motorbike. All important functions are layed out for gloves and the buttons
are weatherproof.
Therefore, the motorbiker is now flexible when choosing
the audio components and this without having to forgo the advantages of a remote
control.
